When you have installed a myriad amount of software on your system, many software modules load up into memory on bootup and your computer becomes very slow. Remember to use msconfig at the windows run prompt to modify and disable your startup items until the system is back to normal speed on bootup and overall performance.

Step 1:
Click start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

Step 2:
In the General tab select selective startup.

Step 3:
Click the Startup tab, and then deselect the items you no longer want to run at starup.

Step 4:
Click ok at the bottom then restart the computer.

Continue this process again until you are satisfied with the overall performance.

Please let me know if this information was helpful.
